A friend wore this beautiful scarf today, sparkly with sequins. I wondered how it was made and asked her to spread it out across her bright blue jacket. I'm wondering if my crafty mom can make one like it.

This photo was taken at a park not too far from my home. It was another snowy day!

Our laptop classrooms use carts like this for charging and storage. Most of the laptops are being used. :-)

When it is so cold outside, fashion just isn't important.

My lizard, Pablo, loves it when the sun comes out. Today it was bitterly cold, but at least the sun came out for part of the day!

Today is my daughter's 18th birthday! She looks forward to a Carvel ice cream cake every year.

It's Inauguration Day. I'm hoping for good things to come! I'm happy to have President Obama leading our country.

Today is a national holiday in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King. I wanted to post an image that was warm and peaceful. My candle made by the Bullfrog Candle Factory in Charlevoix, MI fit the bill. I love the way it glows.

We visited my in-laws in Presque Isle, Michigan. I thought we had big icicles in the Detroit area! This icicle was the king, going all the way from the roof to the ground!

My team, "The Brits and Yanks," had a big night of bowling. Not only did we win all three games, but we won three of the four 50-50 draws!

Nearly every house and building had icicles dangling today. It was a COLD day; a record-setter, I think. It was minus 10 degrees F. when I drove to work this morning, -30 with wind chill factor. The high temp of the day was only 7 degrees F.

The moon was peeking through the trees this morning, looking bright despite the temperature being -8 degrees F.

I attended a meeting this morning at Oakland Schools, a palace of a building. This shot was taken of the building so you are looking at the reflection.

My cat is sitting on a tall bookshelf as if to say "Lookie at me. There's nothing you can do about me being up here."

I drove by this log house today. It sits in the middle of a modern neighborhood and has a lot of character.

We really should have put the deck furniture in the basement before winter!

The snow blower is fixed! Yippee! More snow is expected...

I spent the day facilitating a teacher professional development session in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan. The Soo Locks were less than a mile from where I was, so I stopped there before heading home. I took some pictures of the Soo Locks, but they didn't turn out very well, as the water was frozen and there was not much to see. However, I drove along and soon saw the bridge to Canada, a spectacular sight.

I traveled to Michigan's upper peninsula today. I really wanted to take a picture when driving over the Mackinac bridge, but it was windy and I didn't want to take both hands off the wheel. This lame picture of my portable GPS (her name is Gabby) will have to do!
