While geocaching today, I came across this tree that had roots, small trees, or something else (I'm not really sure) wrapped around it. Please leave a comment if you know what it is!
... still didn't find the tricky multi-chache, but had fun anyhow!
We've got a family of bluebirds somewhere nearby. The babies were out of the nest for the first time today, while it was pouring rain. They landed on our roof and squacked for their parents to come feed them (which they did). Soon two of the three flew off, but one was reluctant and stayed all alone on the roof. The other two came back to help, nudging him to fly. Finally, he got the nerve and left the roof! What fun to watch!
I walked by this lovely field of flowers in Dodge Park(Commerce, MI) while geocaching. The park originated as a result of Roosevelt's New Deal in the 1930s. If I had little kids, I'd bring them here to take some pictures!
Dodge Park (Commerce, MI) originated as a result of Roosevelt's New Deal in the 1930s, a time much like we are experiencing today. The park recently expanded. This new play structure was designed by Disney designers. I visited the park because of my recent discovery of my love for geocaching, and am so glad I did!
My parents gave me a wine journal as a Christmas gift and I used it for the first time tonight. Each page has a spot to put the label and note general information about the wine. Tonight we had a really good bottle worth remembering! :-)
Our cat had been jumping on the kitchen counter, then the refrigerator, and then all the way to our upper cabinets. I bought some fake plants and placed them in places where I thought would prevent her from getting up there. It seemed to work well... until today. She's up there again!
I went geocaching with a friend today. We were trying to find a good place to park the car and obviously got in this dog's territory. We quickly left. I think he'd have bitten us if we had parked anywhere near him!
We went to the wedding of a colleague/friend. It was a lovely ceremony and reception. This was the centerpiece at our table. We had a very fun evening with the "Smart" teachers!
My daughter has been making a summer drink that is a cross between a virgin strawberry daiquiri, a smoothie, and a milkshake. They are actually very good!
Our dishwasher went caput... We'll be washing dishes by hand until it is replaced. Our kitty who likes to hang out in boxes, baskets, and other small spaces found it. My daughter snapped a photo because she thought it was cute. Not.
My husband laughed at these golf balls I bought at K-Mart; they;re called Fuzz Balls! I used them and they work just as good as any other golf ball for my game! I took this picture with my new phone.
Our cat has recently discovered the joy of hanging out on top of the kitchen cabinets. We have had a baracade of boxes and other junk on the refrigerator to keep her from being able to jump up there, but it was awful to look at. Today i picked up some fake plants to see if they would do the trick. They don't look great, but they are better than the boxes! I may cut off the tulips. I've left the tags on for a few days; if the cat manages to get up there, I'll be returning them.
We went to dinner with some friends at a restaurant on White Lake (Michigan). Some children were feeding fish near the shore, but this little guy was intently coloring at the end of the dock. Precious!
A friend invited me to spend the day on her boat on Cass Lake (SE Michigan). It was a beautiful sunny day! I took several photos, but liked this one the best. I wonder who lives in that HUGE house?
Today has been a gorgeous day in SE Michigan. Temps in early 70s and sunny; a great day for geocaching! We found three caches and enjoyed the scenery while getting some great exercise. This photo was taken at the Russell Bridge in the Proud Lake Recreation Area, Commerce Twp, Michigan.
My daughter and I have been wanting to add text messaging to our cell phone family plan for a few years. My husband has finally seen the light and we will be able to text sometime before my daughter leaves for college next month. Woot!
A huge tree used to be in our back yard in this spot until about a year ago when a bad storm blew it over. My husband spent over an hour with an ax today trying to get rid of the stump and he is nearly there. I took this photo of the stump and did not see the bunny until I loaded it to my computer!
We stopped for a quick visit at my parents' home in Marshall, Michigan on our way home from vacation on the 4th of July. My mom's flowers are beautiful! She is most proud of her hibiscus.
The Wisconsin Dells is a 5 mile gorge on the Wisconsin River in southern Wisconsin noted for its unique sandstone rock formations and canyons. It's amazing to see trees and shrubs growing from the rocks!
The Wisconsin Dells River Walk is a scenic walk along the Wisconsin River between Broadway Street in Downtown Wisconsin Dells and River Road. I'll take this over the water parks any day.
