This is an Eastern Massasuaga Rattlesnake, the only venomous snake in Michigan. My daughter and I stumbled upon it while geocaching. EEEK! Read more about this on my Yes Tech! blog.

    Snakes are not my most favourite animal! Hopefully it didn't give you too much of a fright.

    Great shot - not my favorite either, especially when they are in striking distance!
